Providing Public Access to the Connecticut River in Perpetuity
During the Neighborhood Planning Process conducted by Lyme Properties from 2007-2009, the number one priority expressed by the West Lebanon community was public access to the Connecticut River. River Park has recorded deed restrictions in Grafton County prohibiting development on the Open Space parcel “Lot 6,” and has officially transferred ownership of the waterfront parcel to Friends of River Park, an independent New Hampshire not-for-profit entity, which will oversee open space programming at River Park.
A Key Piece of the River Park Master Plan
The River Park Master Plan calls for over 850,000 S.F. of mixed-use development, which will be balanced by maintaining a significant portion of the site as open space– which will be accessible to the public, including the 1/2 mile of Connecticut River waterfront.
The Master Plan is the result of the Neighborhood Planning Process, which involved a series of planning sessions, design charrettes, and interactive surveys of participating Lebanon citizens. The top priorities were:
Mixed-Use
Smart Growth
Public Access
Landscape Design Competition
Lyme Properties convened a landscape design competition and invited five leading firms to contribute their ideas and vision for making River Park a special place for tenants, residents, and the general public. Fantastic ideas from all 5 participating firms will make their way into the final landscape design plan, which will be phased alongside the development of River Park.
